I did see poor ol' Beazley on the 7.30report It seemed to me that so desperate and unconvincing were his attempts to save face in the wake of week of Federal ALP woes that Kerry O'brien gave the ALP leader precious piece of advice: " suggest to you that had you properly put the stamp of leadership on your party these things[(internal strife)] would not be out there".
And in truth, if he were able to wield the same party unity and loyalty as the PM, he wouldn't have been seated across from Kerry O'brien on the ABC, making an arse of himself. And neither would there have been a week of media speculation about the leadership prospects of Gillard or others (i.e. Rudd).
The clock is ticking

I think Julia Gillard's just about the only politician around I'd actually feel comfortable voting for at present. I really hate the fact that just because she's an articulate, intelligent, uncompromising woman, people assume she's some kind of dangerous radical feminist who's going to destroy life on earth as we know it. Come to think of it, would it be so awful if she did? It's not like we're living in some kind of utopia, for crying out loud. And what the hell is a "dangerous feminist agenda"? Does it involve castration, or something? I fail to see how one female politician could wield the kind of clout it would require to marginalise men... And if we're getting all precious worrying about marginalised people, why don't we focus on actual minorities first, rather than men, who are overwhelmingly over-represented in politics, business, and all other major spheres of influence? Yes, this is a bit of a leftie rant. I never claimed I wasn't a leftie.
