Did you know? Cabramatta in The Fairfield City Council Area is a local Aboriginal word meaning "Place of Good Fish". Cabramatta did not get a railway station until 1870. The railway station wasn't open for public transport until 1872, a school was then established in 1882 and post office in 1886. . Canley Vale was named by Sir Henry Parkes, who moved in to the area near the railway station. He named it after his house, Canley Grange.
