salvage crews will meet this morning to discuss their next attempt to refloat the bulk carrier pASHA bULKER stranded at Newcastle's Nobbys Beach.
In last night's salvage attempt, which lasted for two hours after high tide, tugs managed to turn the Pasha Bulker by just six to eight degrees.
But New South Wales Ports Minister Joe Tripodi said that was good progress considering a cable on one of the three tug boats broke.
Mr Tripodi said the next opportunity to try again would be at high tide this evening, but he said that would not be the last chance.
"There's about three nights of very high tides but every high tide presents an opportunity," he said.
Today, workers will try to find out how the cable on the third tug boat broke and attempt to reconnect it.
