'The Railroad Runs Through the Middle of the Town' is an old song that has been sung for many years in the North Eastern Victoria Border City of Wodonga. For almost two decades now the Local Council has lobbied with State and Federal Governments for funding to have it moved.
Delight arrived yesterday for local Mayoress, 'Lisa Mahood' when Victorian Premier 'Steve Bracks' and his team arrived in town to announce a $55 million injection by the Victorian Labor Government to move the Railway line, announcement that has delighted the local community.
Now the locals can look forward to seeing better access to their City and an improvement in the presently retarded condition of the local roadways.
