Italy Win Sparks World Coffee Crisis
The world has been hit by a coffee shortage when thousands of the world's baristas were simultaneously inebriated after the Italy victory in the world cup.
The crisis pushed the price of coffee to record levels and hospital wards have been treating people all morning. The army is operating espresso machines in Double Bay, Mosman and North Sydney, where the crisis has hit particularly hard.
One Sydney office worker described a horrific situation where she was given a regular flat white instead of her usual tall two-shot decaffeinated skimmed laté. “How can we live like this” she exclaimed.
Coffee is now being sold on the black market, and cappuccino sniffing is becoming a problem in remote communities.
Italians celebrated the World Cup victory in Sydney's Norton Street, where several thousand fans simultaneously dived on the floor and rolled over several times, mimicing their hero Italy captain Fabio Cannavaro.
Meanwhile, the Gay World Cup is set to start in the USA. The game is very similar, except during a free kick, when the players hold each others crotches.
