AS five of the parents of the seven victims of serial killer Ivan Milat relive the horror of discovering their child had been murdered, actors re-create their final terrifying moments at the hands of the backpacker murderer. In between each harrowing scene, presenter Steve Liebmann prowls the Belanglo Forest filling in the details of each case. Crime Investigation Australia: Ivan Milat - The Backpacker Murders is confronting television. One hopes the still-grieving parents of the English, German and Australian victims who chose to speak to an Australian TV producer for the first time don't see the re-enactments. They really bring home the brutality of their children's deaths.
The 90-minute locally produced special to screen on May4 has been made by the Crime & Investigation Network to mark the 10th anniversary of Milat's conviction for the murders of Deborah Everist, James Gibson, Simone Schmidl, Anja Habschied, Gabor Neugebauer, Joanne Walters and Caroline Clarke between 1989 and 1992.
As well as the parents, the program speaks to the investigators, detectives, witnesses, forensic psychiatrists and Milat's brothers.
The CI network is Foxtel's dedicated crime channel, which has been available on its digital platform since January last year.

Welcome Tommygun
Yea, and he sits in a prison cell still sending out propaganda that he was innocent. Last report said he was in Goulburn Jail. May he rot in hell.

Friends and family of Ivan Milat are very concerned for his wellbeing in Goulburn High Risk Management Unit (H.R.M.U.). Since November, no mail has got through to him and mail he has written has not been posted to the recipients. Ivan managed to get a message out that no mail had been received by him and that he has written many letters in the last few months. DNA testing completed in England demonstrated that DNA from hairs found in the hands of one of the victims was not from Ivan Milat or any member of his family: users.tpg.com.au/brianrav/FIRM_backpacker_murders.htmwww.justiceaction.org.au/actNow/Campaigns/DNA/papers/crmes_bill2k.html{It is my intention to obtain these test results under FOI and publish them here due to this fact being hushed up by the media. However this will take some time.} If this DNA evidence had been available at the time of the trial, would the jury have found Ivan Milat guity? Family members are concerned, because around the time George Savvas was found dead, allegedly by suicide in his cell, his mail had been stopped and visitors discouraged from visiting in much the same way as in Ivan's case. It seems the real perpetrators of this crime wanted no-one to be able to come forward at the coronial inquiry and say "I had a letter from George a few days before he died....he was not suicidal....." Ivan Milat has expressed fears that he will be killed in gaol with the 'blessing' of the N.S.W. government. He has written several letters to friends in past years in which he states 'I believe they will get me, but it will not be suicide, I would not commit suicide." These friends are determined to attend any coronial inquiry if this happens and give evidence. A fellow prisoner who was within earshot the night George Savvas died says "I heard exactly what happened, George called for help, he said 'They are going to kill me', no way did he commit suicide, what I heard was murder." The prisoner is understandably afraid to come forward. Ivan Milat has always professed his innocence. There is ample evidence of police corruption in this case: users.tpg.com.au/brianrav/The above site was set up by the late Sydney activist Brian Raven who was found dead in his home early in 2005; he had been dead for several weeks. Police seized all evidence of Brian's research into the police frame-up of Ivan Milat and several other high profile prisoners such as Phuong Ngo. Obviously they were worried by Brian's detective work. It is unknown whether Brian's family has ever received his computer and documents back. Meanwhile one of the women allegedly raped by Ivan on the road to Goulburn many years ago has come forward to Milat family members and has apologized for the trouble caused to them. She has stated "I was not raped by Ivan. He did not attack us. The finding of not guilty by the court was correct." This incident was used by the prosecution through media coverage, although it was not legal to bring it up in court, in order to sway the jury to believe he must be the backpacker murderer because he had done a similar thing before. Meanwhile Paul Onions' original description to Bowral Police of a man of over six feet tall and not looking anything like Ivan Milat was mysteriously lost, and Onions replaced that description with something more helpful to police. One can only hope that police involved in the planting of evidence who may now have left the 'force' and Paul Onions himself will come forward with the truth and with their doubts. Paul Onions was shown a photo of Ivan Milat and then told to identify him - what a great strategy. With all this evidence mounting up against police and the state government no doubt some people are getting nervous. You can fool some of the people some of the time but not all of the people all of the time. The truth has a way of coming out. The problem would be solved by the 'expected suicide' of Ivan Milat. The trouble is, HE IS NOT SUICIDAL. Ivan Milat has been 'demonised' by the media in past years. I ask you to look past this propaganda and examine the facts of the case.

Jesus, do any of you actually know anything about forensic science or forensic law? I'm thinking the answer is no. Ivan Milat is guilty. He is so well and truely guilty that I am laughing as I type this because of how stupid the "Friends of Ivan Milat" group sound to people who actually know anything about forensic investigations and trial evidence. Anyway, I guess it's not worth explaining to some people... Say hello to Elvis for me (you still think he's alive, right?)

Spot on Buzz The Friends and Family of Ivan Milats dillema is sheer propaganda. All of the forensic evidence so far points to Milat being guilty. He is a serial killer.
