Commercial Radio revenues continue to grow in all metro markets except Sydney
Despite the proliferation of new media figures for the full calendar year 2007 and last six months of last year, released by The Commercial Economic Advisory Service of Australia (CEASA) show Radio continues to perform well in attracting advertising revenue. The medium posted an increase of around six (6.4%) per cent for the 2007 calendar year to a total of $984.4 million.

Hot100 Darwin Music Director and drive Announcer Joel Gelding has accepted the position of MD and Morning announcer of C fm in Toowoomba. This will be Joel’s first commercial radio job outside Darwin. PD Justin Drexall told radioinfo
Joel has been with the station since he was 16 and has done an outstanding job and really proven himself - starting as a footy panel op, and rising through the ranks to MD - our loss is definitely Cfm’s and Macquarie’s gain.

Triple M Content Director, Grant Tohill has quit Austereo and the Radio industry to go into Records with Sony BMG a senior management role promoting their stable of Australian artists. Tothill said: “I am very excited about the opportunity that has been offered to me by Sony BMG. Just as the 316th Vision Radio Network relay station opens in Woodford, QLD, Karyn Markwell has announced she’s leaving United Christian Broadcasters Australia to travel to the Holy Land (Israel). Karyn’s role as Communications and Marketing Manager, will be taken over by Grant Kennedy, who has worked for the past several years for UCB’s sister ministry in New Zealand.
