RACISM
IS IT A DISEASE?
A Catching evil smart bug carried by blowflys like bigteddy scotty and workingman former banned posters here who promote racism this long established disease.
Can our medical researchers discover a mirical Anti Racist cure Pill or Potion and prescribe it by Pharmacy and Prescription" ?
How is it that we are less racist now than we were a few years ago? Are we learning a new way? Are we being cured of a disease? I ask what racist problems did they encounter. At first, they said: None.
Not one? Well there are children who have very little or no English. What happens to THEM? They have to sit and listen, and gradually they get the language. Is there any attempt to teach the white kids THEIR language or their customs? Now and again they learn how to say "Hello" in Turkish, in Spanish. Now and again.
What an experience those four year old children must be going through in this foreign land! Well, you say, they have to ASSIMILATE as quickly as possible, or...... Or what ?
Listen to what happens when we are racists and why racists need to take a pill to cure this disease:
1. We talk as if we are one, but we emit microsignals of hostility, distance, suspicion, difference.
2. We cause hurt and humiliation to adults and children. We depersonalize, dehumanize, demoralize.
3. Racism robs its host of sensitivity and humanity, of well-being and good feelings towards the world.
4. By our attitudes we increasingly drive the "inferior" person or group into themselves, into their own group, and there they incubate resentment, and hostility; or they might eventually kill themselves.
5. The racist curries favor in the dominant group and reminds them of their superiority, their need to protect their property and power base.
6. The racist incites a contagious hate and abuse, which is likely to provoke retaliation, inciting more confirmed abuse.
7. The racist is shortsighted, and does not see that their constrictive fearful attitude is always a shriveled up shadow of the great expressions of generosity and compassion, of humanitarian intelligence and community well-being.
Often racism is an insidious disease. Like so many other diseases, we want to deny we are the hosts of such a disease. We deny that it is a disease. We assert that our attitudes are justified, rational, intelligently protective. But we evade the awareness that the best way is the way of humanitarian collaboration.
Many as we are, we are one in searching for a new way.
I am convinced it is a disease and we should be searchine for a Medicine Pill to cure it.
You can catch it by listening to talkback radio programs,associating with political parties such as Divided Nation or Howards mob, not weariing a condom or not washing your hands of all racists.
One hopes as we found cures such as antbiotics and the one for stomach bugs we can find the cure as others have as described here
