An ad described by its writers as “3D radio”, has won the overall and single categories for round five of the 2008 Siren Awards. Written for Sydney Dogs and Cats Home, the ad called “New Trick” was written to raise money for kenneling of dogs and cats and to help find homes for homeless animals.

A few weeks ago, Dicko claimed that standup comedy was easy. His vega 91.5fm co-host Dave O’Neil challenged him to try it himself, resulting in Dicko doing a standup gig at Crown Casino. By all reports it was harder than he thought.
Mixed bag in Canberra as 104.7 soars while 106.3 dives in latest survey
In the previous survey the Austereo, ARN joint venture stations had a tiny 1.2% margin between them and together they commanded a whopping 36% share of the market. The latest Nielsen Media Research survey #1 2008, shows that the two stations still hold a remarkable 35.5% of the audience in their clutches but the gap between 104.7 and 106.3 has blown out to a massive 10.3 gap.

With Clare Marshall moving from MD/Mornings at Nova 937 Perth to Drive at vega 915 Melbourne, there are some changes at Nova in Perth. Dave McClung (current AMD) is the new Music Director at Nova 937. Simon Baggot moves from afternoons to mornings, and Desiree Savage moves from floating to afternoons.

Claire Marshall has been appointed the new Drive announcer on dmg's Vega 91.5 in Melbourne, Claire is moving from Nova 937 Perth where she is currently Music Director/Morning Announcer.
Bogart Torelli, ex-Mix Sydney mornings is now on weekends at Vega 95.3 in Sydney.
Dave Evans has been appointed as Star 104.5's new Drive announcer on the Central Coast - he comes from SWRfm.
