David Beckham Misses Second Half for Hair Appointment
David Beckham missed most of England’s game against Portugal because it clashed with a hair appointment. He has since stepped down as captain to undergo intensive surgery for split ends.
This was the first of a series of tragedies that saw England out of the World Cup. Wayne Rooney was caught stamping on the groin of a Portugal player. The referee sent Rooney off to the stands where that sort of behaviour is perfectly acceptable.
England was down to 10 men for most of the game, including big name stars like singers John Lennon and Will Downing.
The game was held up for five minutes when Rio Ferdinand’s drug habit returned and he was caught trying to sniff the penalty line.
After extra time the score was decided in a penalty shoot out. If the penalty shoot out had been inconclusive, then points would be awarded for best fall, with players marked for form and grace as they roll onto the field untouched.
Meanwhile the Australian team, who performed badly at falling and crying in agony, will undergo extensive coaching at NIDA in preparation for the next world cup.
