Stella Street Reserve in Fairfield Heights is getting a makeover and Fairfield City Council wants local residents to help with the details. Residents are invited along to an Open Day at the Reserve on Thursday 3 April from 2.30pm to 5pm to give their input on draft redevelopment plans.
As well as providing vital community input, residents who come along to the Open Day will also enjoy a free BBQ and children’s activities.
Stella St Reserve is just one of 100 parks across the City set to receive a makeover thanks to Council’s Parks Improvement Program. This $13 million, 13 year plan aims to fill Fairfield City with attractive and safe places for locals to play, exercise and relax.
Since it began in 2000, the Parks Improvement Program has improved approximately 40 parks and cycleways in Fairfield City. When a park is upgraded under the Program, work includes tree planting, , play equipment upgrades, new seating as well as bush regeneration and installation of artworks by locals artists in some instances.
Parks to be upgraded in 2007/2008 as part of Fairfield City’s Parks Improvement Program are: Crayford Crescent Reserve, Mt Pritchard; Stella Street Reserve, Fairfield Heights; Blacksmith Street Reserve, Greenfield Park; Sydney Luker Reserve, Cabramatta West; Beaumont Street Reserve, Smithfield; Ironside Street Reserve, St Johns Park; Baragoola Street Reserve, Fairfield West; and Innisfail Street Reserve, Wakeley.
